Pact
KIN aims to accelerate system transitions towards a climate-resilient and climate-neutral society by bringing the right knowledge to the right places. Pact members are committed to realizing KIN’s mission. The Pact is a network of stakeholders operating in the Netherlands.
The Pact has three objectives:
- To connect organizations and individuals working on system transitions
- To identify and prioritize knowledge questions
- To share, develop, and apply knowledge
What is the KIN Pact?
The KIN Pact is a Dutch transdisciplinary network dedicated to accelerating system transitions.
- Civil society
- Governments
- Businesses
- Knowledge institutions
What does membership entail?
- Members endorse KIN's mission
- Members commit to a concrete contribution, e.g., time, resources, network, facilities.
What does participation in the Pact offer?
- Access to a broad network
- Facilitation by KIN center for activities
- Linkage to KIN programs
- Access to KIN Pact events
- Knowledge exchange (asking questions and sharing knowledge)
- Visibility
How does it work?
The Strategy and Advisory Board prioritizes substantive themes and guides the development of the Pact. 8 – 16 persons, appointed by KIN Steering Group.
Active Pact Members bring forward issues and organize activities. – Participation for employees of organizations. – Organization into thematic working groups
General Pact Members are actively involved in activities. Participation for organizations and individuals on a personal basis.
Hoe onderscheidt het Pact zich van andere klimaatnetwerken en –organisaties?
Het Pact onderscheidt zich van andere klimaatnetwerken en organisaties door haar nationale scope en specifieke focus en aanpak. Hieronder lichten we dat per punt toe.
Focus op systreem transities
- De focus ligt op systeemtransities die inzet vereisen van meerdere actoren en transdisciplinair worden bekeken.
Focus op kennis
- Het KIN Pact richt zich op kennisdeling en identificeren van nieuwe kennisvragen.
Nationaal dekkend netwerk
- Dankzij de steun vanuit alle kennisinstellingen vormen we een nationaal dekkend kennisnetwerk, dienstbaar aan maatschappelijke opgaven.
Gericht op samen-werking
- Het Pact is gericht op het faciliteren van samenwerking tussen maatschappelijke organisaties en kennisinstellingen.
Onafhankelijke regierol
- Door de nationale dekking en omdat het Pact niet de belangen van één organisatie vertegenwoordigt, kan het een onafhankelijke regierol nemen om risico’s van klimaatverandering te beperken.
Proactieve en initiërend
- Het Pact verbindt niet alleen partijen, maar agendeert en initieert ook nieuwe projecten en programma's, waarvoor deels ook middelen vanuit het KIN beschikbaar zijn.
