Working Group What opposing forces stand in the way of climate transition?
This working group brings together research and practice to overcome the forces that stand in the way of effective climate mitigation.
When accelerating the climate transition, the focus is often on solutions, new technologies or policy measures. But at least as important is the question: what forces are perpetuating the current system?
This working group brings together misinformation experts, climate obstruction researchers, policymakers, NGOs, creative professionals, journalists, and other relevant actors to develop projects that address specific forms of climate obstruction. In doing so, they exchange knowledge and experiences with people who experience these counterforces, with the aim of overcoming them.
The working group focuses primarily on organising training courses for journalists and policymakers and a briefing for members of the House of Representatives. These focus specifically on climate misinformation. How do you recognise misinformation and how do you deal with it? How do you ensure that you do not unknowingly spread misinformation or give it attention?
