Theme
The impact of climate change on young people is becoming increasingly visible. Yet the youngest target group – children aged 4 to 12 – often remains overlooked. They go through the process of moving from carefree to aware at their own pace. Teachers play a crucial role in guiding this process.
That is why the Climate Psychology Foundation, the Sustainable PABO Foundation and the Technotrend Foundation are working on a read-aloud book that will be published in 2026. The book – based on the Didactiek van de Hoop (Didactics of Hope) – offers short stories and practical, scientifically based tools for teachers. This will enable them to discuss climate change, climate emotions and climate justice in a hopeful and action-oriented way in the classroom.
This meeting is intended for organisations that recognise the urgency of climate emotions among children and want to work together to build a powerful and sustainable network around this theme. We will discuss ambitions, wishes and possible forms of cooperation, in terms of content, practicalities and financing. Together, we will lay the foundations for an educational project that can really make a difference.
