How to start a Community of Practice (CoP)?
A Community of Practice (CoP) is an open and experimental learning environment in which participants from different disciplines with a common interest come together to exchange knowledge, insights and experiences. At the outset, the outcome is not yet certain; participants will focus more and more sharply on a specific issue during the course of the programme. Would you like to start a Community of Practice, but don’t know where to begin? Together with Het Groene Brein, we have developed a practical toolbox. We have developed something full of insights, tips and tools for setting up and maintaining your CoP.
The KIN “Crutzen workshop”: building a research programme together
A Crutzen workshop is an innovative, co-creative meeting in which researchers, policymakers and civil society organisations work together to develop a new research programme. The name is inspired by Dutch meteorologist and Nobel Prize winner Paul Crutzen, known for the concept of the “Anthropocene” and one of the most important figures in atmospheric science. The KIN “Crutzen workshop” is part of the broader KIN approach.

Handbook on Climate Justice
Ready to get started with climate justice? The Handbook on Climate Justice offers practical guidance for anyone working on climate transitions. The handbook builds on our programme ACT: Accelerating Just Climate Transitions in Urban Regions and was developed in response to the need for practical tools to apply climate justice in day-to-day work.
It is intended for everyone involved in climate transitions, from spatial planners to policymakers, and from public health professionals to entrepreneurs. It includes tips, tools and up-to-date examples of climate justice in practice. In addition, the handbook provides access to a canvas that supports teams in developing workshops where professionals and experiential experts can work together on the topic. The second part of the handbook offers further explanation of the concept of climate justice and an overview of existing literature.
