Global Transitions Mozambique begins with an in-depth look at the water sector

Following an initial visit in May 2025, the first Global Transitions project in Mozambique kicked off in the first week of December: an in-depth dive into Mozambique’s water sector!

Our KIN team was delighted to collaborate with an enthusiastic and knowledgeable team of Mozambican experts. The project team will create a narrative about just transition in the context of climate change. A story that describes the structural barriers and opportunities, social innovations and ways forward. This month, the project team presented the first ideas in Maputo during a lively workshop. Participants from local and international NGOs, the government, water management organisations and the scientific community came together to brainstorm these ideas. We greatly appreciate their input and expertise.

Many thanks to Dinis Juízo, Alda Salomão, Genito Maure, Nícia Giva, André Machava and Clemêncio Nhantumbo for their team spirit and leadership! We look forward to continuing our collaboration.

Curious about the visit and the next steps? At the end of January, the Mozambican team will present their project proposal, so keep an eye on this website.
