Lifeport Metalab is a new regional network for practice-based climate-transition research in the Green Metropolitan Region of Arnhem–Nijmegen. The Metalab coordinates research questions from businesses, governments and residents, and links them to researchers from regional knowledge institutions. By forming research teams around concrete transition challenges and jointly seeking funding, the Metalab fosters collaboration and accelerates knowledge development.

Lifeport Metalab’s strength lies in its close cooperation with practice partners: they contribute to the research agenda, participate in projects and support the uptake of results. The outcomes of the research are actively shared through existing networks in the region.

With support from the KIN Pact, the Metalab is being further developed into a central hub for climate-relevant practice-based research in the region. The focus lies on knowledge exchange, connecting initiatives and strengthening the regional ecosystem for sustainable transition.
