Food plays a crucial role in the climate transition. Yet not all groups in society benefit equally from sustainability efforts within the food system. For people with a low income or a migration background, healthy and sustainable choices are often less accessible. How can we ensure a food transition that serves all residents?

The Network for Accessible Food Communities brings together researchers, local initiatives and policymakers to reduce inequality within the food system. They work on new forms of collaboration, knowledge exchange and policy influence that connect to the everyday realities of residents and communities.

The network focuses on making existing practices visible, strengthening local food communities and placing inclusive food transition more prominently on the public agenda. In doing so, it helps create space for initiatives that combine sustainability with social justice.
