Documentaire ‘Re-rooting’: Inheemse perspectieven op rechtvaardige transities’
Re-rooting is a co-created documentary and a collaborative dialogue initiative that emerged from a partnership between Myra Colis, Anna Melnyk, Laure Herpain and the ‘Indigenous Liberation Month × Just Transitions’ working group, supported by the KIN Pact network. Through this documentary, the working group aims to highlight Indigenous perspectives on just transitions.

Indigenous communities are often invisible, unheard and forgotten. At the same time, they are often hit the hardest by climate change and their rights are systematically violated.
Indigenous knowledge systems, values and perspectives are of great importance for achieving a just climate transition. Indigenous peoples should not only be regarded as stewards but also recognized and consulted as authoritative voices on climate and environmental issues. In the Netherlands, little attention is currently paid to indigenous perspectives within the climate debate.
After a tour at various academic, artistic, and public venues, the documentary is now available online for everyone to watch!
